Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default Radiator fans dont come on but do work.

On my 2000 Windstar the radiator fans haven't been working and I think it froze my A/C compressor by not cooling the condensor. They come on when I remove the connector going to the temperature sensor so I replaced it and still nothing. I can't just leave it disconnected because it works as a sensor too and leaves the check engine light on. What else could it be?

normally when fans don't come on it is the fan relay switch which goes out all the time. I don't know anything about this type, but I'm sure I'm right.

I agree with runcool; happened to my 1996 windstar. My electrician placed a bypass relay to fix this issue. The switch is called Constant Control Relay Module as shown here AutoZone.com | Vehicle Selection - Year.

Windstar's 98 and up are not equipped with CCRM's instead they run off two (one high & one low speed) relays mounted on the fenderwell that I can feel them both click and work the fans on when I unplug the connector to the temp sensor.

There's a high side pressure switch in the A/C system that tells the PCM to turn the fans on but they're still not coming on even after jumping those wires. WTF!
