Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

check for vacuum leaks before you by any new parts or sensors to take care of those lean codes. i had the same codes after i did the head gaskets on my engine, and it turned out that it was just caused by a vacuum leak due to me not re-assembling the air intake duct correctly.

I had the tune up done at 102K, so plug/wires are all pretty much new. Will check air intake tomorrow when I look for the TR sensor first to see if there are any wiring faults so i dont drop $ on a new sensor.

Well this will fix your 171 and 174 codes:
2000 Ford Windstar (Codes 171 and 174)
That is a very common problem on all windstars, not a hard task at all.

Yeah, I thought there was soemthing wrong with your transmission range sensor, I have never had to replace mine so I cant tell you how hard it is to change, to me it looks easy to change but YES it does need to be ALIGNED.
