Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default A/C Problem 2000 Windstar

I call for a/c cold air and nothing. The small light on the a/c button is lite up. The knob is at the cold side of the controls and no cold air. The fuses all seem to be good. Is there a simple diagnostic test to see what the problem is? Is there a way to tell if it needs more refridgerant?

Do you get cold air from the rear vents? No A/C could mean a number of things http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker.

you need refrigerant. r134a with oil will do good. the hose piece cost like 10 bucks. worth every penny.

make sure you follow the instructions, personally if the refrigerant is bone dry have it recharged professionally. Otherwise go get a kit and make sure you check the A/C pressure before you start recharging, because if the pressure is up to where it should be, then you have enough r134a and you do not want to overcharge the A/C.
