| 2000 Windstar SEL My Windstar sometimes takes more than one attempts to start up in the morning. Few days ago it took me 5 minutes to get it started, after that it start fine. Today it started on second attempt. It has 49k miles and I have had 30k manufacture service done from the dealership. No check lights comes on. I had the battery and alternator replaced few months ago. Could it be fuel injection? any advice? I am worried it may not get worse.. thanks AA |

| A small leak in the fuel system will let it de-pressurize overnight. Turning on the ignition activates the fuel pump for a couple of seconds. Wait at least five seconds before engaging the starter the first time.
If that doesn't help enough, cycle the ignition switch a couple of times before engaging starter.

| Probably the check valve on the fuel pump in the tank. All you can do is replace it with a factory part.I guess it could possibly be the fuel pressure regulator but that would usually cause some sort of drivability issue. |

| It probably won't get worse. Any tiny leak will lose all the pressure overnight. It could be a leaky injector, too. If that's the case, a better brand of fuel like Chevron might help. Techron is a detergent that cleans the fuel system. ExonMob has a similar one.
