Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default Extended Warranty

I got a quote of $2140 for 3yrs 36,000 miles extended warranty with $50 deductable for my 2000 Windstar SEL which has 49,300 miles on it. Its with dealers services with which my extended warranty just expired. Any suggestions whether to take it?

I tend to lean toward Factory extended warranty, that being said It sounds a little high but with a 5o dollar ded.not bad. 1 major repair and the warranty paid for itself.Make sure its 50 per visit and not 50 per item repaired.Get a list of covered items so you can shop around.

I called back and they have offered to waive the deductable so its $0. I also checked warrnatydirect and their quote is appx $1500 for 5yrs/100,000 $0 deductable but they only cover major repairs (engine, transmission, and axle). So for $600 more i can get a coverage which covers a lot more things but 2 less years.
