Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default cruise control?

working on 2001 windstar and the cruise was working then quit then started working again then stopped again. Relays and fuses are good. Any suggestions?

Older Fords have a tricky switch on the brake pedal that can go flaky.

My 99 windstar had a similar problem right after I bouhgt it. It ended up being the pressure switch that is mounted on the brake master cylinder. It was a cheap part and an easy repair at that. Good luck!

I'm guessing that is a vacuum dump switch. You may also want to follow that hose and check for vacuum leaks.
