Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Unhappy Reverse to drive stall - Help!

I bought a used 98 Windstar GL with 128000 mi. The second day I had it the check engine light came on and the next day it was off. The third day I had it, I was backing out of a parking spot and as I put it in drive it stalled. It stalled again the next day but only once, every other time I drove it it was fine. Any ideas what could be wrong and estimated price for repair? Thanks

Try a tankflu of a good brand of gasoline with Techron or similar detergent. It really does make a difference.

Your on board computer will store diagnostic codes when the CEL comes on. Many parts stores such as AutoZone, or Advanced auto parts will plug a scanner into your car and check your codes for free.
