Ford WindstarIntroduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.
I am having a problem with my Information Center in right hand corner of dash. The lights are so dim during daytime driving that I can not read any of the seclections: Compass direction and temp; miles to empty; Avg miles per gallon, etc.
Are there more than one bulb behind that section? Does a certain fuse come into play? The mileage listed on the left side is bright and easy to read.
There is more than one bulb back there. If you're seeing some light, then it's not the fuse. Get a manual and it should tell you how to replace the bulbs. Be sure to have several on hand, as you may have to replace more than one.
If the replacement procedure involves a lot of work, and the vehicle is older, you may want to simply replace them all.
Thanks, mpeoples for your reply. I thought there must be more than one light in there.
I have very dim readings, so must have at least one light still working. I think I will just replace them all.
Help! Took instrument Cluster out of dash. In back of cluster - no bulbs to replace. It is all digital that I can see--(computer board, etc). Is there a way to increase light of Info Center? Can find no light bulbs anywhere in back of the Instrument Cluster. Model: 2002 Windstar SEL. I hope that the whole cluster does not have to be replaced. Have the Haynes Ford Windstar Repair Manual1999 thru 2003, but it talks about replacing bulbs.
Thanks for any help I can get.
