Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default Windstar 2000 SEL starting problem

Well,
I just had the ground wire issue resolve, today another problem occured. The van starts for a fraction of second and then it dies down. My van has 50,400 miles on it and just yesterday I drove appx 100 miles and it ran great. Any suggestions what might be causing this?

thanks
Arif

Default Windstar 2000 SEL start-up problem update

The van's Idle Air Control was bad and was replaced. The mechanic charged me $339. Does any one know if this is a fair price?

thanks
Arif

Well I know that the Idle air control is a very expensive part but $339 does seem very expensive since there is barely any labour involved. I wish I sent you this page earlier 2000 Ford Windstar (Idel Air Control Problem)

Just use that website to keep the IAC clean and you wont have any problems.
