Ford WindstarIntroduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.
Hi.
I had a scan on my 2002 Windstar 3.8, and it said cyl # 5 was misfiring.
What is the firing order ? I would also like to see a diagram. Is cyl # 5 in the front, (easy to get to) or back (impossible to get to)
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I think I can help you here. First of all when was the last time you changed your plugs and if you did then did you put OEM or after market. I had the same problem with mine and everything pointed to a defective coil. I replaced 3 coils and the problem went away for a bit and then it would start missfiring again. Finally I replaced all the plugs with Motorcraft plugs and hasn't bother me ever since. Oh by the way the plug will be the middle one in the front. Give it a try it might only cost you a few bucks abd if you need to take out the coil I will let you know how to do it easier. It's a bit more work but you won't end up with your arms all scratched up plus you can change the rear plugs as well.
