Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Not to sound like an ass but it sounds like you should start by buying a repair manual such as a Hayes or Chiltons and study up on the front brake section. You really will learn a lot from this and it will give you the proper torque specs as well.

I would say just to be safe is to replace the Calipers, Pads and Rotors.

When the pads get to wore out extra heat is transfered to the calipers and can make the seals weak, ask me how I know this, trust me I have been there.

Flush the brake fluid too.
