Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default 20" Rims

Just curious to see if 20" rims would fit on an '03 Windstar. I know, why would I want to do that, well, I am getting a deal on these I cannot pass up.

Let me know.....

Use the link below to help calulate the size. The rim most likely will fit, but you gotta know what size tire goes with the rim. Find out from the seller, what size tire is included or what sizes can be put on the rim. For your convienence I guessed on a couple sizes and they would fit:

P245 35 R20 (speedo would be 2.302% too slow)
P255 30 R20 (speedo would be 0.5% too fast)

Tire Size Calculator - tire & wheel plus sizing

Stock Specs (16" Alloys)
16 Inch Rim and P215 60 R16

Stock Specs (15" steel)
P205-70 R15
P215-70 R15

EDIT: Just remember Tires to fit 20" rims are going to run $170+ per tire and you'll only get "Ultra-High performance" tires. Just think about that cost in the future.

That's nothing man. I put a lift kit on my 03. I also put one of those little chain stearing wheels on it. It's also got shag carpet on the walls and dash. Let us know how the rims work out and I'll do that to mine too. I'm old school 70's.

I wanna see pictures of that billybob07. Not that I'd do that, I'd rather drop the suspension and stiffen it up if I were to do anything. (Me likes the corners)

Last night I was following my windstar in the Prius, going 50mph through the winding backroads, and I had to say the van stays pretty well planted, with little body roll... I was actually impressed.

I am sure the 20' will fit if they are not fat rims. However you will loose some serious driveability and comfort using a smaller tire and you will loose what ever good handling the van had from the factory. Also from the safety stand point of the center of gravity on a Windstar I would say dont do it.

I havent seen yet going from a small rim and big tire to a huge rim with a smaller tire having any comfort in the riding.

I have seen lots of rim/tire swaps like this and they all seem to ride like bricks on wheels when done.

Good luck on your decision!
