Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Exclamation 1999 Ford Windstar Fuse, Dangerous Cigarette Lighter Issues

I believe that the #5 fuse has something to do with the cigarette lighter if I am mistaking. Here's the problem any 12 volt device I connect that draws moderate amperage ie, my Acer Aspire 5672 or my 12 volt air pump causes my Kensington mobile power supply to become extremely hot............hot as in it will burn the living shit outta me. It's already melted one 12 volt lighter tip and has nearly burned up my laptop & other items. That being said there is currently a 20amp fuse in that spot that I just replaced. I'm going to hope thats the right amp fuse because thats what I replaced it with.

What the heck is going on this thing is killing $100 Kensington power supplies...... and caused one to catch fire

Im not ruling out a notebook issue but this is insane.

Please tell me you guys can offer me some assistance

Maybe you could explain what a kensington power supply is, and why it is involved an air compressor or other devices.

OK, you use that to charge your laptop. I have a similar one, but haven't used it in the Windy. What does that have to do with air compressor or other devices? You surely don't have the power supply and air compressor plugged in at the same time?

If there is so much load that the voltage drops, the power supply may overheat from trying to supply enough current to the laptop.
