Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default Oh HAIL!

Got caught in a heavy hailstorm on I-70 near Limon Colorado in the '02 Cargo Windstar this afternoon, and pulled off to the side, along with other cars. Would have kept going at low speed to get through it quicker, but for fear of being rearended. The stones were mostly golf ball size, and I could see some had melted into oblongs like brass knuckles. It was so loud we had to shout to each other. The windshield broke in 3 places. After we got to the next stop, I found the expected dents all over the top and hood, and the hood to windshield fairing was shattered.

Sure glad we weren't in an open car, like the last time I drove through here.

So much for selling this thing for a decent price.
