Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default serpentine belt

My serpentine belt has come loose, but I cannot adjust my tensioner. The tensioner bolt is already tight (full CCW) and the belt is in good shape. Any suggestions?

Default belt

replace the belt anyway. the tensioner is spring loaded and should keep a continuos tension on the belt. if you have some how locked it in place unlock it by loosening the tensioner. are you sure it is ran correctly to be under the tensioner. of course you have what am i thinking. well thats all i can think of without seeing it.

The tensioner has a spring inside which keep tension on the belt , the spring could be broke and seized up , Replace it

Is your S-belt loose to the touch/pull, or are you just getting belt squealing? My S-belt felt quite snug and the belt still looked fairly good, but the squealing dissappeared when I changed the belt and replaced the alternator (squealing also could have been bad brushes on the old alternator???). BTW, I did not have to loosen the tensioner to change the belt, I just pulled hard on the belt to move the tensioner arm, slid the belt over the pulleys, and with a screwdriver and slight pulley rotation, was able to get the new belt on.

Your belt could just be stretched out, replace it.
