Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default Replacing Spark Plugs, 2003 Windstar

Can anyone give me any hints or advice (other than take it to the dealer!) to replace the three rear spark plugs? The front three were of course easy to do and they were badly worn at 100k miles.

Thanks for any help!

I know on my 1998 I had to remove the entire plastic cowl that holds the wiper assembly. Once this big piece is removed you can easily feel each plug with your hands.

yup yup yup... My cowl is off right now (sealing the HVAC ductwork)...

Ive heard mixed opinions on spark plugs and engine break-in... Should I do the plugs? It's been about 5000 miles.

Check them and see if needed since you have had running issues. Check the Gap too.

They look ok, running a hair lean, but the plugs seem ok, should I get a brush and scrape off the dust? The van is off to get the O2 sensors changed tomorrow. Then it's off to the bodyshop.
