Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Any recommendations on a one? Is there a better choice than these plugs? I will be replacing the wiring at the same time.

Motorcraft only, others can develop running issues, especially the fancy multiplesparkdodad plugs.

I don't have enough experience to be able to justify making a specific recomendation, so I guess I will just go with the moderators on this one. I can say this however; my '98 125,000 windstar developed a little bit of a miss so I figured it is about time that I change my plugs and check my wires. I pulled two of them. They looked a bit worn, and gapped at about 70. I regapped them at 52-56 and put them back in until I get a chance to pick up new ones. Amazingly I was lucky enough that it was one of those two that were missing.
They were original equipment motorcraft AWSF 42E platinum
BTW.. the first 75,000 miles on this van were all city driving like go ten blocks and stop at a light, or take 30 minutes to go 5 miles kind of driving. Those 75,000 are probably equivalent to 250,000 mixed use.

Motocraft are technically recommended, but Autolite Double Platinums are also good, just buy the standard plugs, just make sure they say double platinum. Those Bosch platinum-4+ are crap, believe me, There are many posts on here that prove the windstar doesn't like them. Besides, do it right the first time, and thank me for the extra 2 hours you'll have next week.

Currently running NGK Platinum series with no issues and an 8mpg increase in fuel mileage. Considering my originals were melted in the front and the rears were at .076, I would say no matter what plug I put in, my fuel mileage would have increased.

I opted to go for the latter of the plugs and bump the performance up as little more with a tad bit hotter plug design.

I would however go with what the rest have reccomended as these vehicles generally DO NOT like anything else installed but factory spec parts, believe me, I have had my share with my brakes front and rear and now have factory specs back on.
