Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default Side Mirror Replacement

My driver's side mirror is cracked. I have the replacement. How do I replace it? The car is a '99 Windstar.

You need to remove the door trim on the inside. I did my 1998 by carefully looking for screws and carefully prying the plastic pieces off. It's easy, but I cannot give you details as I have a 1998.

Once the door trim is off, there are bolts on the inside of the door, get a wrench and undo the 3 bolts, disconnect the power mirror wiring harness, and replace with new mirror.

Check Autozone's Repair Info site for instructions.

The triangle interior trim piece needs to be removed, then the bolts for the mirror are exposed. It not too bad a job - did the pass. mirror on my wife's van. I got a cheap non-OEM part the first time - it is a POS! Picked up a new OEM part on eBay!
