It's a Torx bolt on my 1996's tensioner pulley. You can use a small mirror to visualize the bolt.
I have seen my Ford mechanic use a Torx bit (sorry, I don't remember the size) attached to a ratchet to loosen[?] the bolt and undo the belt.
I think this would be safer than risking losing a finger or two.
