Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default 2002 Winstar LX Sliding door Problem

Hi There just picked up a 2002 Winstar LX Minivan, one of the problems I am having is the Drivers side door will not Open unless you Time it right by pressing the power door unlock and Time it just right, if you do it will unlock and open, but if not timed correct its real tiresome.

anyone else have this problem?

I notice the Door cluster light always stays on saying a door is open yet the dome lights do go off, could this be tied in with the locking problem on the door?

if anyone knows PLEASE email me at catsgrafix@gmail.com so I can figure out this problem

Every time I've had weird door lock, door handle, or door latch problems, it's been because one of the little plastic clips that are used to connect the linkages and rods. The clips attach the linkages to their appropriate connections, and they tend to crack and break.

Sounds like you need to take the interior door panel off and look at all the linkages, rods, etc. for something loose or disconnected.
