Ford WindstarIntroduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.
Hi i am a new owner of a 2002 winstar minivan. i have had it on the road now 5 days
but finding something really wierd..
As i go to start it i will insert the key and get the usual lights on cluster cycling as any van but as i try to turn it on i get nothing.. as if the battery is dead. but its not dead, it has alot of power, after a few minutes i will try again and it will start as if nothing was wrong..
i notice the van has a anti theft feature as i see the light flashing at initial entry to the van.
i also am aware of the chipped key.
i am just realy confused of why i can not turn over the engine right away..
is there a saftey feature when the engine it cold?
I do not have the owners mannual so do not know what all features are in this
