Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Popping noise has nothing to do with the ABS, sounds like bad suspension.

On each wheel there will be electrical wires attached to them, follow them to the tire and you will see the ABS sensor. You cant see if they are broken unless they are physically damaged. You can unplug and OHM test each one to see if the OHM's are between 1800 and 2200 OHM's.

yeah i heard that the windstar might have a steering issue with the rack and pinion but i just had it inspected less than a week ago and they replaced a bunch of the front suspension. i hope they would have looked at the steering setup

If it turns out the speed senors are the cause of the problem, it's about 100 something for parts. The installation should NOT be really hard since the sensor is located in the wheel well. Fix it though cuz abs saves lives
fixed....that was what i meant

Just one thing when replacing the sensors the bolts can be rusty depending on your geography. So if worse comes to worse bust off the old sensor where it attaches to knuckle so you can get a better grip on the bolt. Other than that it is an easy fix.

Sensors can be bought at a parts store, online or at a dealer.

Insurance companies do not like when their clients disable safety systems, especially braking systems.
What was the $60 for?
