What oil weight and brand does everyone use for their 3.8/3.0 windstars?
Ford WindstarIntroduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.
What oil weight and brand does everyone use for their 3.8/3.0 windstars?
Greetings:
What oil brand does everyone use for their windstars? Is it synthetic or regular dino oil? I have used Amsoil, Redline, Mobil 1, etc. I have even used Chevron. But for my windstar I used Pennzoil Platinum 10W-30 with a Motorcraft oil filter. This is an excellent group 3 oil, with a robust additive package. However, what do the windstars seem to favor?
1999 Windstar 3.8 l in the warm of summer I use IDO 15W40 and winter in colder weather when starts will be harder I use 5W30.
As far as filters Canadian Tire.
I am a long time Chevron Delo 15w-40 fan, how does the 15w-40 fair in a 3.8 V6? Is your acceleration smooth or heavy? That 15w-40 can be fairly thick. I use it in my older Volvos (many years).

I use 5w-30 mobil 1 with fram tough guard filters for my 1999 windstar with 250,000 kms i used red line once and noticed it gave the van more power but red line is expensive so I use mobil 1. I tried quaker state synthetic but didnt like it at all.
