99 Ford Windstar Fuse #9 and 16 blown - Page 2

Ahhh I thought that fuses 9 and 16 sounded familiar.
There was a thread that was pretty active on here about 9 months ago with a similar problem.
IIRC the Rear Electronic Control Module REM is located just in front the the jack (which is located in the passenger side rear passenger compartment just behind the wheel well.) There were comments that sometimes the wire harness gets trapped by the jack handle and it shorts possibly to ground.
Look there first.

I looked for the thread I referenced above, and didn't find it.

I did however find this one I participated in. It is a different issue, but does include pinouts for one of the two or three connectors that go to the REM.
If you need them, I can obtain the pinouts for the other connectors too.

Thanks for those threads its given me some leads to go on. I just checked the rear electronic module and found it had slightly frayed/exposed wires on two different connectors. Im going to patch those up and see if it helps anything. Interestingly when I was moving the wires and checking the connectors at the Rear Electronic Module it caused something to start clicking at the Front Electronic module. Sounded like a relay clicking and the clicking kept getting faster and faster. So I unhooked the battery to stop it as I didnt know what the heck it was. Hopefully it wasnt anything bad. After I fix the wires ill update with the results.
