Ford WindstarIntroduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.
howdy once again, I have a 98 windstar, no power gets to the fuse box in the cab, well, except for the ecm fuse. The box under the hood gets full power, the starter cranks, no fuel pressure, ain't checked for spark. Is there a fusible link or relay that sends the power in? All I know is that she said it made a loud pop and died at highway speed. Now nothing. Yes, I tried the serarch engine, THank You All,for any info. Rich
No power to ANY of the in cab fuses? OR some of them do not have power?
Take a look in the owner's manual.
A some of the bigger fuses in the power distribution box under the hood supply a number of inside the cab fuses.

All of the fuses under the hood light with a test light. none of the fuses under the dash light up except for the ecm at pos. 3 I believe. Thanks, Rich
Man - I'm thinking ignition switch.
Maybe I'll get a schematic tomorrow...

The fuseable links would be before the under hood fuse box, (power distribution box)
I'm guessing that there is a connector that the fuse box conencts to, and that the Powe distribution box conencts to, and that one end or the other is disconected.

I just looked under the hood of my Crown Vic. Man... there are a number of big connectors under the hood! Big meaning ... lots of wires. IF you heard a POP, then you might see something like a connector burnt, melted, or otherwise explodicated (hehe a new word a friend of mine made up).

hmmm, explodicated. kinda like when my tranny got explodicated from too much gription. I peeked at the wiring, man, that snot runs everywhere. Lemme go dig at it a little further. thanks broncoJoe
I found the connector for you.
C101
It joins the under hood fuse box with the inside passenger fuse box. It is on the driver's side of the bulkhead firewall.
IF you find this helpful, click the little thumbs up.
