Ford WindstarIntroduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.
my 2000 windstar has a clunk in the front end. the strange thing is that it is intermitent and it seems to come from different spots in the front
sometimes when i come to a bunch of small dips it sounds like its coming from the passenger or driver struts ,
i recentally had almost everything replaced in the front of my wind bag i have new:control arms on both sides; new ball jhoints ;new sway bar link on pass side ;new sway bar bushings ans new wheel bearings. all of this was done at once. so it seems that all i have left are the tie-rods and the struts. now the strange part sometimes when i go around a turn the friggin thing clunks when i straighten the wheel
the clunk seems to come from the steering gear as i can feel the clunk right by my right foot when driving. after i had all that work done it was good but a couple days after i had this mystery clunk
i have had it to 2 differens shops and one said there is nothing that he could find wrong <he did'nt even charge me!??> the other one that i usually go to figured that it was the transmission mount which was gone. i had it replaced a few days ago and now the clunk is getting worse. im getting ready to drive this thing into the lake and the clunk is driving me crazy
