Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default isolator bolts replaced - success

thanks to information find on this forum, I've successfully fixed my check engine light caused by isolator bolts vacuum leak.
It took me about 3 hours to complete the procedure, without valve cover replacement (supposedly my car has updated cover). I purchased kit off of e-bay for less than $100 and so far everything seems fine. I drove the car for 60 miles since with multiple restarts and check engine light didn't come back on.
I'll report if this fixed engine pinging.
this was very easy repair. I didn't use torque wrench because i didn't have one that measures such low torque values. for ease of access, I'd highly recommend to remove engine cowling.
I gave up on changing spark plugs though, as they are very difficult to reach.

This might take a couple of tanks of gas.

Also this is one of the few cases where I would recommend something like Sea Foam (available at Walmart or most discount auto stores).
