Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default Looking at 2003 Windstar

I found a 2003 Windstar with 56,000 miles for $5,500.

* What do I look for when checking out this van?

* Any big ticket repairs or maintenance in my future?

* What do you experts think? HELP! and thank you.

Look for a different vehicle......I own a 2003 Ford Windstar and have had nothing but problems.

Power windows malfunction
Interior Lights come on and off while driving
3 out of 5 wheel lugs snapped
Constantly changing front brake pads and rotors
Rough suspension
Poor fuel mileage
Slider doors open when front doors close
Rear vents blow hot when A/C is on

All these are very common problems and I think if you purchase this vehicle, you will find out very quickly.....
