Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

It's the hood tamper switch for the Factory Alarm. Get it connected when you can.

Not sure if this helps. On the taurus line it's mouted on the fender. Front end. by the battery. You should see some wear marks on the fendor or some other support beam that should "match" up.

2000 Windstar. I checked in the FSM.

"Is the resistance less than 5 ohms with the hood ajar switch open, and greater than 10,000 ohms with the hood ajar switch depressed? "

If did want to deal with it; you could "Delete" it. Disconnect the switch and tie up the connector. It would show the Anti-Theft system the hood is closed.

No problem. It couldn't have been far from where it is suppose to be. You know?
Automotive electrical is fun. Get a wiring manual. They are great for mods. IF that is what you are into.
