Ford WindstarIntroduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.
i have 3.8 2000 windstar that has had some issue
i fixed some vacum leaks and sparkplugs and other stuffand thought i had this thing working ok
i was driving over some pretty shitty washboard road 2 days ago during a 300 km drive
i stopped at gas station when i logot back in od light was flashing
i knew from here that it was bad news. the funny thing is that before 2 days ago my van ran pretty good but now since the od light starting blinking there is a definate rattle in the drivers side of my engine compartment when i accelerate to climb a big hil or pass a big semi on the highwaybut other wise there is no noise and no harsh shifts no leaks. so im like what the fuck???
how bad is this likely to be???
my question is. can i drive this van untill i can get it into the shop???
and what is the cost of a transmision rebiuld cause i dont have the gear or the know how to do this thing myself
thanks
