Ford WindstarIntroduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.
Hello. I've been a visitor here for some time now. This is my first post. I was getting codes 171/174 (very common) and 0304 (cylinder 4 misfire) after a few years of hell I finally purchased the Intake Manifold & Valve Cover Repair Kit. Installed that, changed the plugs (autolite platinum) and put it all back together. I immediately noticed a sound of airflow through the plenum, (and I can't recall if this sound was there before), idle was smooth but would die down and nearly stall every 10 seconds or so. Then engine light came on. I read codes and I get PO102 'MAF sensor circuit low frequency' and PO113 'sensor 1 circuit high input'. So I remove and clean IAC and replace gasket. Remove and clean MAF. Neither of those helped. Is there anyone who could recommend my next attack, and also tell me if engine is supposed to sound "breathy". I have a fear that plenum isn't seated properly, but I don't think so. I remember it dropping into place perfectly before I tightened it down. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
