Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

I don't know how he knows anything about our problems if he hasn't experienced any of them himself.
Don't worry. He owns a WINDSTAR. He will experience them soon enough.

Now...can someone jump over to 95 WS Drivetrain Troubleshooting and give me some help....I doubt happy guy can help unless he's a mechanic...but I would appreciate any input.
My problems, by the way, ARE with a used vehicle that probably HAS NOT been treated well, but I need help anyway in trying to fix it and then maintain it!
Side note: I have a 1995 Ford Mustang GT that I got new and have taken care of pretty well. I LOVE THAT CAR!!! I also have a 99 Ford Expedition that I bought new and have taken care of pretty well. I LOVE THAT CAR TOO! But sometimes people end up with problems.
For HAPPY GUY...14000 km = about 8000 miles or so. I'd say that is a problem for anyone! So...can I get some help now?

Well tell me how to stop the rear passenger doors from squeeking all the time, how do you fix the misaligned doors that is apparent on all the 1999 ever made,
Death to Ford,
Hey you can realign the sliding doors yourself. They start out originally ligned up and I guess over time they need to be realigned(I think it has something to do with flex in the unibody). If you ask the Ford shops they will give the standard answer of "Thats normal, sir!" or "Everything apears to be ok, that will be $90 for looking at it!" I found this information in my Haynes manual. The manual has a procedure for realigning the doors.

I haven't attempted this yet but I plan to in the next few weeks. My doors do not stick out 1 inch from the body like you said yours do. Mine move slightly under acceleration and decceleration(usually indicated by the squeaking/rattling) and they stick out about 1/8 inch more than they should.

Hey tr918

Let me know how it goes

I can only align the front side of the door and the back side towards the rear of the van sticks out and I cannot align this because of how the van was designed. On the front portion of the sliding door there are 2 bolts which can be opened to align the doors but the back of the door has no screws and is unadjustable. They corrected this problem on 2000-2003 windstars

Thanks for the info. I will let you know. My first priority is fixing my brake fluid leak this weekend.

Dude, trust in what DTF is telling you. Right now you have not experienced any problems but give it time, soon you too will be part of this forum asking why this is happening and how can we fix it, or you will be bitching about how expensive the repairs are. It is all true man. I too was like you saying this all can't be true but man it is, it is.

I wonder what would happen if everyone who bought a ford took their crappy cars/vans/trucks to their local dealerships and just abandoned them in their main entrance or front doors or just blocked the way to any customers for a while. ??? hmmm what would happen. lol

If Ford employees are going to post here, they might want to be a little more subtle. Microsoft just got in trouble for "anonymously" promoting themselves last week.
