Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default 2000 starting problems

Sometimes it has a starting problem...drained battery to zilch. Even when the batteries brand new. It isn't the alternator...but it doesn't seem to be charging or revving correctly (enough)...plus weird electrical issues inside, such as the interior lights flashing on and off (sometimes) like a disco...please help! The car has (supposedly) had the computer reprogrammed by the dealer. This has stymied the best of them. And the dealer's mechanic is taking me for a ride (but it won't be in my Windstar!)

It sounds like there is a short somewhere in your wiring that is draining the battery.

Yeah it sounds like a short, but finding it is the hard part. If you don't know how to do it yourself, it can get costly at any mechanics or dealership. I like to think the windstar compares to the Sharpei dog.
Like the dealership when a Vet sees you coming in the door with a Sharpei all they see is Chaching, money, money, money.$$$$$$$$$$$
