Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

How many miles on the van? My tranny guy said that the speedometer module on the back of the transmission is right next to the catalytic convertor, and the constant heat generally causes a failure right around the 200K Km point. I'd look at that as a possibility. Unfortunately it's not cheap to fix...you may just want to wait until your tranny fails (and it will, eventually).

have you read "99 Ford Windstar Fuse #10 Problem" thread yet? since this may be a similar problem for you if it's connected to your abs which is where mine has started also.
