Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default New here with a few ?'s

Hi all! I'll keep my intro here as this probably will be the main area I post in. I've got a 2000 Windstar with 118k. So far its been a great mostly trouble free vehicle. Its time for front struts. Now I have probably average mechanical abilities and only a basic tool set. Is it realistic to think I can change out the struts myself or would I be better off paying a legit shop to do this? I have never done fwd struts before (all my previous vehicles have been rwd). What special tools would I need to do this? I really hate to pay a shop $100+/ hr labor for something I could possibly do myself with a little guidance.

This looks like a great place with lots of great info. My trans is slipping a little but that is for another thread. Seafoam trans tune in the mean time
