Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Question How many volts?

2000 Windstar. Both front door electrical door lock actuators not working. Checked drivers door so far and find that only 6 volts is fed to the actuator from the FEM. Is this voltage correct?

Should be 12 volts. (There is a current limiting resistor inside the actuator to prevent it from over heating.)

Thank you. I guess that I had better start looking for the other 6 volts that I'm missing.

I would definatley check the grounds for that circuit and check it to the battery to get an acurate reading.Make sure you check both wires positive and ground you may have to make a rig to load test the circuit.
