Ford WindstarIntroduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.
The light in the dash came on last week telling me I had an outside light burnt out. No biggie. So I checked them all and there all working fine. Thought the dash light would go out on it's own but it hasn't. Any ideas? We haven't had any problems with the van so far. It's a 99 with the 3.0 motor. Everything on it works great. I'm thinking it could be a trouble code or something. Don't really want to take it to the dealer for something like this as there are very expensive where we live. Any help would be great.
This light is also illuminated if any of the interior lights are burned out. I found this out when mine wouldn't go out after checking all of the exterior ligts as well on my 2001 Windstar. Some are hard to spot. I found the courtesy light on the drivers side under the dash was burned out. You wouldn't even know it was there if you weren't specifically looking or it.
