'98 Windstar power windows and CCU

Dear fellow Windstar owners,

As my title states, I own a '98 Red Windstar 3.8 L with around 84,000 miles. I purchased the car used around 3.5 years ago when it had a little over 51,000 miles. All in all, the car has worked out very well.

In the past couple of weeks, some electrical and climate control issues have come up with the car.

First, the passenger side window now will not work on either the drivers and passenger side switch. It used to work intermittently, now nothing. I checked the fuse box under the dash, no blown fuses. The fuse under the hood for the windows is the correct amperage, though a different color than the other fuses. I just purchased a Haynes book on the Windstar and am going to test the continuity of the switches to see maybe if it is a dirty connector.

Second, when I turn on the a/c, the dual climate control unit works for the front passengers. If I turn it on for the rear, heat comes out instead of cold air. Very strange!!

Essentially, you're going to have to check the voltages on the power window system starting at the motors and working your way back the system.

As for the rear AC blowing heat, I would suspect there is valve stuck somewhere back there. Again, download yourself the Ford service manual and see what it shows you for that section.
