Ford WindstarIntroduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.
Has anyone else out there had this problem? Vehicle only has 33,000 miles on it and will NOT go into over drive.. I have called Ford and have an appointment with the service department at the dealership.
This just sounds very odd to me to be having such problems with such low mileage.
Thanks in advance for any help..
So you checked your dipstick and there was debris in it?
What kind of debris, metal pieces?
Also you cant get out of overdrive since the switch on top of the gear selector is for O/D off?
Also, i have had 8 transmissions in my 1999 windstar with the first one replaced at 14000km. Most people have had many many many many problems with windstar transmission at early milage. Since you are going to ford they will probably check your transmission and probably change the fluid. If you keep your windstar have the transmission fluid changed once a year to prolong the life of your tranny, since they are notorious for failing.
