If anyone has an older Windstar like myself then you may have done this repair. If you haven't then this thread is for you. There's a wire on my 95 Windstar starter motor that allows it to work. When this connection, a male 30 cent electrical connection becomes rusted it loses contact and you get a no start situation. At first you may tap on the starter like I did and wham it starts fine for awhile. Now you think it's the starter windings rusting out, don't buy that new starter (again like I did...ouch). Just replace that connection with a new one and this time solder the connection for a better contact, it'll last longer probably the life of your van. I've owned this van for 10 yrs. and experienced a lot with it and I'll post some more quick fixes soon and try to answer as many posts I can solve. Glad to help anyone...
