Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default H/C Thermostat in cluster staying at cold...

My '98 windstars h/c meter in the cluster next to the gas gauge likes to stay at C while accelerating and driving, especially in the cold. Should I be worried??

do you have heat, also unplug the temp sender by the thermostate and ground it the gauge should go to hot if so replace the sender. If no heat replace thermostate.

there is heat, it's when i'm driving it goes down and this only happens when it's cold out. in the summer it doesn't really happen. i'm not mechanically inclined so i have no idea where to look!

Sounds like you just need to change the Thermostat and Coolant.
