Ford WindstarIntroduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.
I was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem . My wife drives a 2003 Ford Windstar and the power mirrors have screwed up . They will go out , up and down but will not move back in , any suggestions ? Also once in a while the doors locks will not quite lock , they try but not quite . Any help would be greatly appreciated .
Cheers , Maddog .
When I bought my Windstar I had some similar problems. Apparently who ever owned my Windstar must have loved to leave the drivers window open in the rain a lot. I removed the mirror controls out of the door and they had corrosion on them. I cleaned it up and it works like new now.

We have an 00 Windstar with the same problem, left mirror will not go in, right mirror will not go out. Bought a Haynes repair book that refers to section 12-8. there is no mention of mirrors there. I am looking for a break down on accessing the controls in the door. Any ideas?
Thanks for the input, I disassembled the switch and re installed after cleaning the contacts. All functions now work. I did find instructions in Haynes for switch removal and testing but not where it was said to be.
