Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default "shaky" Speedometer reading

When driving my speedometer guage is not steady, the needle fluctuates about 10 km/h back and forth, so it's both ammusing and leaves me guessing.

As well I know based off of hwy. radar that it's in-accurate, My speedo could say I am going 130 km/h, however It's more around 118 km/h ..

The previous owner said he had it looked into but was an expensive fix, I am just wondering what the actual issue might be..

Any words of advice are appreciated.

thanks

3 things expensive to cheaper
1.The speedometer head inside your dash is broken.this is my problem.Remove dash and replace $1000 dealer est to fix
2 & 3.you have a split speedo cable one or both need to be replaced.both cables together cost appro $50-$80.

I am living with mine and have learned how far off it isat different speeds.
