Ford WindstarIntroduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.
My 2000 Windstar with 58000 miles has started to make a growling sound. The sound appears to be coming from the back end of the engine compartment. The pitch and volume increase with speed, not RPMs.
Is this growling an indication of a coming problem?
O2 sensors could be loose ? ie. air flow in exhaust where it shouldn't be.. at least I had a loud rumble and it was this (after a mechanic I trusted, showed me)
