Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default Fuel injector stays on (it won't quit spraying).

Has anyone ever had this happen? I'm working on the in-laws 95 Windstar and when I turn the ignition on, the #6 fuel injector opens and won't shut off.
I ohm'd out all of the injectors and they were within spec's.
I used a 9 volt battery to check the solenoid actuation on each of them and they worked fine.
I even swapped the #5 injector with the #6 injector and the problem stayed with #6.
I've been going nuts trying to figure out what is wrong with this van. Could it be the PCM? I've never heard of a PCM failing this way before. When they go it seems that they just quit working.
Could it be a shorted wire? Although if it was shorted it would have to be shorted to voltage and not shorted to ground. Is there a coil or relay that may be stuck shut causing this problem.
Does anybody have any ideas?
Thanks,
Rcky
