Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default 00 Windstar Headlight stays on

Hey,
I'm new to the forums, just hoping to get some advice before taking it to the dealer.

I have a 2000 Windstar, and the passenger headlight remains on after the vehicle has been shut off and the headlights have been turned off (manual headlights) no other lights are on except the passenger low-beam (running light).

Its also showing a dummy light "Bulb Warning" on the cluster. According to the owner's manual, the Bulb warning light should only come on when one of the exterior lights is burned out?

Any advice is appreciated, thanks in advance guys.

Roberto,

Welcome to the forum. I am no expert, but there is a switch problem somewhere. I would unplug the bulb and then plug it back in to see if that fixes the problem. Doing that may allow the system to reset itself.

Default 02 windstar headlight stays on

What did you find out about your problem. I hit a deer and damaged the left head light and when it was replaced the headlight stays on all the time. I am thinking a relay with a stuck contact but I don't know where it is located. I pulled several relays on the fuse panels but none of them killed the headlights. Can anyone help?
