Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Smile Looking for quality brake rotors/pads

I'm thinking of replacing the front rotors on my van over the summer. Last time I had them replaced, they warped very quickly (less than a month if I recall). I had them replaced at a shop so I can't tell which brand they are. This time around I'm going to be doing the work myself so I can select which rotors to use.

Can anyone point me to a quality rotor? I put on some Duralast (from Auto Zone) rotors on my fiancé's Sebring a couple of months ago. They have a lifetime warranty on them and they are still smooth. Anyone know if I would be okay with putting these on my Windstar?

What about pads? I'm pretty happy with the ones on the van. They don't produce a lot of brake dust. I'd like something along those lines.

Thanks!

I replaced my front pads on my '00 windstar with Bendex Titanium pads. 78,076 miles on it at the time, for 48.48 from Advance auto.. I did not have to replace the roters just yet, the pads seem to be doing great.

I believe teh Bendex are good pads. I talked to some guys and they said there are some brake pads out now that call themselves "low brake dust pads." They said they might be pretty good.

Have you checked the rotors to see if they are warped?

Thanks for the tips, I checked out the Bendix pads, they look like quality parts. I'm still looking for a good set of rotors. Although I might just end up having them turned instead.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that they are warped. The steering wheel and the car vibrate slightly when I'm coming to a stop.

Aamco or Aimco spelled something like that were good rotors and i have used them for years. Also you cant go wrong with Bendix or Raybestos rotors either.
