Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default Navy Wife needs Help

Hello

I have a 2000 Windstar w/ 3.8L and my husband is deployed. This van has over 144k on the odometer and has some issues I hope you can help me get taken care of. I have 4 young children so money is tight.
First, My neighbor helped me get the number 10 fuse issue fixed thanks to this forum. In the process, he noticed I had oil in my air tube thing. What can possibly be causing this.
Second, The Check Engine Light is on he hooked a code read to the car and it couldn't "read" the codes.
Third, My ABS light was on and went off after the brake fix was done. But it came back on sortly after I started the car up.
Last, the front door locks will not lock with the button or when the I put the car in gear.
I'm grateful to have a neighbor who is willing to help me get my car running a little longer and I would really appreciate all the help I can get.

Hello!

I am not sure how to help you with your dilemmas except that I would check the break reservoir and make sure there is enough break fluid. If that's low, it will show up with the ABS light.

There are lots of great people on this forum that will surely chime in with their suggestions. Just hang tight.
