Ford WindstarIntroduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.
Well, I got a tranny problem with my 98 Windstar with 130K miles. After 15 mins of driving, transmission won't go into overdrive and OD light starts flashing. Should I just drop the pan and replace the filter & fluid or is there something else I should be considering.
That's a good start but more than likely a new tranny or a complete overhaul will be needed. When that O/D light starts blinking, that's often big trouble.
