Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Question squeaking noise from the front end that only happens when turning right

2003 Ford Windstar 87,000 miles

Noticed a squeaking noise from the front end that only happens when turning right. Notice this mainly at lower speeds. Especially after stop and just turning right. Seems to be greater when going over a bump.

Ideas????

Rides fine except for this.

If you have wheel covers, remove the right one and try without it. Also, check the brake caliper to make sure the slides are not stuck. Check the condition of the CV boots. Also, check to make sure the brake dust shield is not contacting the rotor.

Bad outer tie rod end, mine did this at first and then squeaked all the time.

If your exhaust tip is larger than your cylinder bore, then you are a Ricer.

Bad CV joint. Find a big empty parking lot. Turn your radio off. Crank your steering wheel to the left. Drive around in circles slow in forward and reverse. If it still grinds it is most likely your CV joint.

You cant get CV joints anymore I dont think, you have to replace the entire shaft which is much easier to install... They run anywhere from $80 to almost $200 per shaft and there are core charges so get ready to slam it on a parts counter somewhere and make sure they have it in stock too... Make them go put there hands on it and put it on hold... Quantities are so screwed up at parts stores it's not funny.
